Take Advantage Of Todays Economic Climate

Although we're in the middle/tail end of one of the worst recessions in our economic history, there are things to be happy about financially. Many stocks are at all time low prices so there are seemingly infinite smart stock picks to be made. You might consider using a technology which was once reserved for professional traders but is now available to everyday traders.

I'm referring to analytical stock software which does all of that work for you so that you can focus on the investing aspect without having to sacrifice hours doing market research because instead all of the work is done for you short of investing yourself. Here's how to use analytical stock software to make the kind of money that you want from this market.

As I mentioned, we've seen a number of recessions throughout our economy's history. Our economy, by virtue of it own nature goes in and out of recessions every several years almost like clockwork. Individual stocks perform similarly in that market behavior repeats itself time and time again. These programs use that exact fact to their advantage in that they look at well performing stocks of the past and look for current stocks which exhibit like behavior.

Penny stock software especially is for those who want to make a big profit in the short term as these are programs which only target the cheapest most volatile stocks and look for the best upcoming trends. I recommend a entirely penny stock-based stock picker above all others as these are the most effective in delivering explosive picks in the market. I do however recommend that you go with one with a money back guarantee as this enables you to test the program first hand but also it's a sign of good faith from the publisher.

Basic Retirement Plan

Planning for retirement is one of the most critical projects you can undertake in your lifetime. Understanding so many terms can be overwhelming, but learning about retirement basics can build investing confidence in future retirees. Knowledge can put you on a course of financial stability. Here are different types of assets in which you can invest.

Annuity:
An annuity is an investment contract usually purchased from an insurance company that will provide the purchaser with future payments at regular intervals or a lump-sum payout. If the annuitant dies during the payout period, the remaining benefits are paid to the named beneficiary.
There are two types of annuities: fixed and variable. When an annuity is fixed, the insurance company invests the purchaser's principal in "Fixed Income" instruments (Bonds, Mortgages, etc.) and guarantees the principal and a minimum payout. If you have a variable annuity, the insurance company invests your principal in "Equities" (Common Stock) and neither principal nor payout is guaranteed.

Bonds:
Bonds are certificates of debt. This means that, when you buy bonds, you are lending money. The government or a corporation, which guarantees payment of the original investment plus interest by a specified future date, issues them. Thus, bonds are referred to as "Fixed Dollar Investments," because their yield is predetermined. There are many different types of bonds, including corporate, convertible and government bonds.
Corporate bonds are normally rated according to credit worthiness – AAA bonds are the most secure. The yields are primarily influenced by overall interest rates and the credit worthiness of the issuing company. In general, the higher the grade the lower the yield. Corporate bonds that can be converted into common stock are called convertible bonds. They offer a chance for capital appreciation if the price of the underlying common stock rises, and generally their current yield is higher than the dividend return on the common stock. The federal government, state, or municipality issuing the bonds guarantees them.
Another type of bond is the zero coupon bond. There are several kinds of this bond: treasury zeros, corporate zeros, or municipal zeros. They function as automatic compounding machines, don't pay any interest (zero) and are sold at a fraction of what their face value (full value) will be at maturity. Assuming the issuer does not default, they allow an investor to lock into a future return that is wholly predictable.

Mutual Funds:
A mutual fund pools the small investments of a number of people who have similar objectives. A full-time, professional investment manager then invests that money into a wide range of securities. Each person investing in a fund owns part of the portfolio. How much that is depends upon the total value of the securities in the portfolio. Investors receive a proportionate amount of all the earnings from the securities in the portfolio.
If an investor only has a few hundred or a few thousand dollars to invest, the investments cannot be so diversified. Mutual funds were developed to offer average investors a way to invest like the wealthy and offer small investors the same advantages that large investors receive: diversification, lower transaction costs (because the fund can buy securities in big blocks) and full-time professional management. The mutual fund concept has proved so successful that millionaires and huge corporations now invest in them as well, partly because it is much easier to let a fund handle all the bothersome details of buying, selling, record keeping, and holding the securities in a safe place.

Stock
A stock is a security representing a portion of ownership in a corporation. This means stockholders own direct ownership in a corporation. Performance of this investment depends on the success or failure of the company. Thus, stocks are called variable-dollar investments because there is no predetermined return and come in two forms: common and preferred.
Holders of common stock have the greatest control over the management of the company, but the last claim on its earnings and assets, which creates the risk. However, after the fixed claims of the bondholders and preferred stockholders have been met, common stockholders are entitled to share in all the company's further earnings, like dividends.
Preferred stock is non-voting, meaning the stockholder has no control over the management of the company. Preferred stockholders receive a fixed dividend that must be paid before the common stockholder is entitled to a dividend each year. It should be noted that "preferred" does not mean "better." Unless it is convertible, preferred stock has neither the growth potential of a common stock nor the relative stability of a bond.

Understanding the different types of assets you can invest in will prepare you with the knowledge needed to create a winning retirement plan. When you diversify your investments between multiple assets you can help ensure a successful retirement. Set up a meeting with a certified financial planner and get started.

Earn Your Way

Earn Your Way

Throughout my life like many others, I have been blessed with some things and some people. On the other hand I have had to work very hard for something and some relationships in my life.

Was it just handed to you?

We hear so many times in the news where some famous person left a huge inheritance or company to their child. We hear how this son or daughter spends the inheritance to impress others or enhance their lifestyle and within years they are so miserable and/or broke. We hear about how some individuals that win the lottery and think that now with money all their problems will be gone. On the contrary, their problems are now compounded to an extreme unimaginable and within a few years they have lost everything. They have lost most if not all their money, friends, family and freedom. In my opinion this happens because they did not earn their money and they never learned the power of earning your way.

Earning As Simple as a Coffee Mug

I was inspired just yesterday when I went to the mailbox and found a white box shoved in the back of the mailbox. This white box had me quite intrigued as there was no holiday coming up, and my birthday is months away. So I had no clue! I knew I hadn't ordered anything recently, but there still was this white box. I looked at the sender and it was from EzineArticles.com, a website that I continually submit articles. I went inside the house like a little kid to open up this box. Once I got it open I found there was a coffee mug and nice leather coaster. The mug and coaster both have verbiage stating my expert status and also a card was in the box stating how they felt about my valuable content I provided them. I had earned this status, something that I accomplished, a skill that I could teach others.

What the Mug Means to Me

While this is just a coffee mug, it has a different meaning to me than my other 20 coffee mugs. I earned it! I was dedicated up front to add valuable content to people's lives without expecting anything in return. All along I knew providing quality content to the world has the ability to inspire another or enhance their quality of life. You may be reading this and thinking, "Robert, it's a mug!" You couldn't be more right, but do you know the power of earning your way? In your life think of what you have earned: a diploma, a degree, an award, a position, your lifestyle, or even consider the relationship with your spouse and/or friends. Think of how you earned the respect of others. What did you have to endure to get to your goal?

The power of earning your way is one not to be forgotten or doubted. Earning you way leads to leadership, being able to help others in a way many can't. Earning your way comes with experiences, some good and some bad but experiences never the less. You cannot replace experience, it forms you and I to become the leaders we are. Earn your way. Help others. If you accept handouts, what does it teach you? If you learn, earn your way, and then teach others what does this accomplish? You are learning and giving back to humanity in a positive way. So in closing I have to say there is nothing better than Earning your Way.

Steps to a Better Life

Step 1 – Targeted Focus

We know that our thoughts expand into our reality and manifest into different aspect of our life. The logical conclusion then would be that everything and everyone in our lives up to this point, we have attracted and are responsible for. Consequently, the solution to a better life is simple, all you have to do is ensure that you are attracting what you want, not what you don't want. An important point to make is that people, at least the people that complain most about their life, tend to focus on the negative aspect of things. Things like how much they hate being in debt, how tired they are, how overweight they are, how badly people treat them, how no matter how hard they try their circumstances never get any better. "As go your thoughts, so go you." In other words, what your mind focuses on…you will attract. If you focus on the things you don't like, you will continue to draw to you the things you don't like. Your unconscious mind can not differentiate between want and doesn't want. It only reacts to the focus of the thought or words. One time I was explaining this to a friend of mine and immediately his reaction was, "OK, from now on instead of focusing on how much I hate my debt, I'll focus on getting out of debt." Wrong! The focus is still…debt. All your unconscious mind hears and sends out into the universe is "debt," and that's what you will attract. Instead of focusing on getting rid of your debt, you need to focus on financial abundance. Instead of focusing on finding a better job, you need to focus on serving the world in the best way you can and in a way that is best suited for you. Instead of focusing on losing weight, you need to focus on being the picture of health. You must move toward something, not away from something, have a "toward strategy," not an "away from strategy." Move toward your ideal state, not away from your problem state…whatever that state may be.

Some examples of an away from strategy are things like the anti-war movement, the say no to drugs campaign, the stop the global warming trend. All these things focus on the exact thing they don't want. Consequently, if anything all these areas of concern are getting worse, we're losing the battle on drugs, the war is not coming to an end anytime soon, and global warming continues to be an issue. Ask yourself why the anti-war movement is having no impact on the state of the conflict currently in the middle east. Now ask yourself why the peace movement of the 60's was so influential and created such change. The answer is simple…the focus, the collective consciousness. The focus in the 60's was on peace and love, the focus now is on hating war. It is interesting to note that Mother Teresa never attended an anti-war rally. She would say, "if you are having a peace rally, let me know."

The fact of the matter is that when you focus on something, I mean really focus on it. You tend to attract to you the object of your focus. For instance, have you ever gone car shopping, found a car that you are interested in and then everywhere you look you see that make of car, where before you became interested in buying that car you didn't see them around much, if at all. Is it possible that once you became attracted to that car everyone else did too, and they all ran out and purchased one. Not likely. The fact of the matter is that those cars were always there, you just didn't have the inclination to notice them. Why..? Because you weren't focused on them. The act of being focused brings things to our awareness that wouldn't normally be there. Let me clarify. The things are there, the specific make of car was always there, we just didn't notice it because our focus was elsewhere. Once we focus on it we become aware of it.

Human beings are creatures of deletion, there are literally millions of things going on around at any point in time, we cannot consciously focus on everything, so our minds delete what it deems unnecessary, unimportant or out of our reach. Once we bring something into focus we see it, hear it…we notice it.

Exercise: look around and notice everything in the room that is red. Now close your eyes. Remember everything in the room that is green. How many things can you remember? Probably, not many. Why? Green wasn't your focus so your mind deleted it from your awareness.

The problem lies in the fact that so many people are focused on what is lacking in their lives. As a result, when a solution presents itself they do not see it because it is not in their realm of focus. They delete it. It's as though we go through life with blinkers on…and we do. What does get notices though is everything that supports their focus of what they're lacking or don't like; they notice the endless bills, how much they hate their job, the sad state of the world, the monotony of life and the problems they encounter. Life is trying desperately to provide people with what they deserve and with the solutions to life, but unfortunately the solutions go unnoticed because we are to busy focusing on the problems.

This reminds me of a scene in a movie with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels called "Dumb and Dumber." (Probably the last movie you were expecting to learn a lesson from) At the end of the movie the two main characters are walking along a deserted road complaining about the state of their life and the fact that nothing great ever happens to them. A Hawaiian Tropic tour bus pulls along side them filled with beautiful bikini clad models. The models proceed to ask them if they know two guys who would be interested in being their lotion boys and touring the United States with them for the remainder of the summer. The characters look at each other as if to signify that finally their time had come, or so we think, and then proceed to point the girls in the direction of the nearest town saying. "I'm sure you'll find a couple of guys there". As the bus drives away you hear the characters say, "boy those are going to be two lucky guys. How come we never catch breaks like that?" A silly movie, not really intended to provide any profound messages, yet if we're open and aware we can find life lessons everywhere. The lesson here is "don't miss out on the solution or an opportunity because you are so focused on the problem."

Step 2 – Visualize

If you can't see the finish line, how will you ever get there?

Being able to see a clear picture of your desired outcome is crucial to the successful attainment of that outcome. Use your visualization skills and see yourself already there, having already attained the object of your desire. See, feel and act as if you already have what you desire. When visualizing your outcome, remember that details are where it's at. Don't just see a vague picture of your dream home, see the details. What colour is the house? What finish is the house, wood, stucco, brick, stone etc? Does the entrance have a slate, tile, or marble floor? What do the light fixtures and window coverings look like? What kind of doorknobs are on the front doors? What kind of view do you have? Can you hear or see the ocean from your back yard? Can you smell the flowers in your garden? What does the landscaping look like? Paint a picture in your mind, one that you can come back to again and again. Oh, and by the way, don't forget to put yourself in the picture.

Step 3 – Positive Emotion

Focusing your thoughts and visualizing is like anything else it takes time and practice to get really good at it. The trick is to do it daily. Set aside specific times of the day to focus your thoughts and visualize your outcomes, make it part of your daily routine. Just like brushing your teeth in the morning or taking a shower. Once you hone the skill of being able to consistently focus your thoughts on what you want as opposed to what you don't want, and to visualize your results as though they were already achieved then add emotion to the mix.

In order to create an energy flow that allows your desires to come to you as quickly as possible you must allow yourself to feel the emotions that that particular desire will bring for you. If you are focusing your thoughts and energy on financial abundance and have created a clear and detailed picture of what the end result will be then feel the feelings that financial abundance would bring you. What emotions would being financially abundant create for you? How would you feel if you had the financial ability to give your family and friends the best of everything? How would you feel if you had the resources to help people who truly needed your help? How would you feel if you could spend your time on things that meant the most to you and that you enjoyed the most because money was no object? How would it feel if you had your perfect mate? How would you feel if you could live or go anywhere in the world without having to give any thought to the cost? How would it feel to be sitting by the pool in your dream home (that's assuming there is a pool in your dream home)? Tap into those feeling as you focus and visualize on your desired outcomes and make it as vivid and real as possible. Remember, you must see the pictures as if you already have that which you desire.

P.S. Don't forget that these 3 steps must be followed by "inspired action." Be focused, visualize your outcome, create positive emotions and then go after your desires with extreme persistence and determination. Remember, no one can do your push ups for you!

How I Got My First Card

I clearly remember how and when I got my first businesse card and how it made me realise at a young age what a little ingenuity and creativity can accomplish. Constantly being asked to leave or handover my business card I soon realised the potential marketing opportunity I was missing out on.

Like all people beginning their own business enterprise I had given consideration to marketing techniques and the most cost effective approaches to take. I had not however given consideration as to the 'power' of a business card.

The first batch of cards I brought from a machine at a motorway service station, it seemed like such a good idea at the time! However, the end result was needless to say pretty ropey quality! Time was of the essence and I gave little consideration to the few font styles, colours and formats on offer.

I learnt by my mistake and decided I would contact a friend who was adept and a computer whiz! We spent hours trying all sorts of combinations of layouts and fonts and eventually came up with what we believed to be a professional looking card!

I duly gave my new business card to everyone I met and even had the audacity to leave them at reception desks when carrying out cold calling. The responses where not as overwhelming as I had hoped for, nevertheless I did receive some calls and made some bookings so things were looking good and business was gradually building.

It wasn't until I started receiving and exchanging business cards that I became aware of the impact these can have. Next time you hand out your business card watch the person's reactions. Do they simply not even look at it and stow it away in their pocket? Do they glance at it and then place it in a briefcase or inside pocket? Or do they actually look and read it and confirm email address and contact numbers?

If they do the latter it shows that they are at least impressed by the look of the card and have intentions of using it. I'm now fascinated by reactions and watch people closely for those tell tale signs which show positive interest. Reactions are different if the person has requested a card and almost instantaneously you will be able to read their thoughts!

First impressions do count and I'm sure there is someone has carried out studies and provided statistical data as to what these signs mean in terms of the marketing values of having a professional business card. I wonder if it is a bit like buying a house where studies have shown that people make their decision within the first 8 seconds?

If this is the case having a professional business card printing firm design and produce top quality cards that will impress and give the right signals has got to be worth investing in! With online printers offering fast and efficient services at affordable prices there are no excuses to have outdated business cards with amateur designs!

How They Affect Our Life Ambitions

As humans we are born and bred in an environment full of people who affect our thought patterns and thus influence us in one way or another. Our behavior as we grow up is determined a lot by the standards and expectations of society in general. In the later stages of life, an adult is able to comfortably break from the barriers of society and live in a totally different world, if he so chooses.

Since our thought patterns and behaviors are largely influenced by our peers and workmates, many times they have been the cause of our downfall. You are more likely to be discouraged by your friends whom you trust than by your enemies.

Your thought patterns usually tend to conform to your social environment. Normally when under influence, one does not realize that they are being discouraged. Therefore you ought to free your mind and allow your imagination to flow freely without limits. It might be very difficult to think of your trusted friends as your enemies, but for you to reach and realize your ambitions you must be unilateral in decision-making.

As you know discouragement is usually indirect and it eats away at our vision, thought patterns and hence offsets failure. It has a strong effect on self-motivation and leads to procrastination. In the long-run you develop a sense of pessimism and you may end up giving up due to prevailing challenges.

Experts in psychology advise that you make a deliberate choice of taking full control of your life and thus avoid negative thought patterns at all costs. You must also seek possible sources of motivation and inspiration so that you can be guaranteed of achieving success in life.
